Penicillin is the first antibiotic which has been used in medical purposes. In many years,
a pharmaceutical industry continues using this ingredient to create modern effective drugs which kill bacteria.
One of the best penicillin antibiotics is considered Amoxicillin for many years.
Amoxicillin is an effective antibacterial medicine which may be prescribed even children. The main advantage of this medicine
is a broad action and high efficiency during most bacterial infections.
As to bacteria, Amoxicillin provides a bactericidal action. It quickly destroys a cellular wall of microorganisms, so that the
basic metabolic processes are broken during which bacteria grow. Bacteria cannot develop and die under the influence of Amoxicillin.
The therapeutic effect of Amoxicillin appears quickly, on the 2-3d day after the beginning of the treatment.
In order to completely neutralize a threat of the repeated infection, the treatment is continued for 2-3 days after the disappearance of the disease symptoms.
To effectively stop progressing of the infectious process, it is necessary to take the blood test and detect an originator of the infection.
Amoxicillin may be destructed under the action of beta-lactam microflora, and therefore a doctor can prescribe a complex treatment of the bacterial infection.
Amoxicillin is released in capsules of 250 mg and 500 mg, and in the form of covered pills in the dose of 250 and 500 mg.
One side of the capsule is red, and another one is yellow. The pills are oval and white.
Amoxicillin is prescribed adults and children to treat infectious diseases caused by the influence of the morbific bacteria:
– Acute intestinal infection
– Infections of the skin and acne
– Infections of straight intestine, kidney
– Infections of the male and female genitals
How to take Amoxicillin?
In the treatment of the infectious diseases in adults, a single dose of Amoxicillin is 250-500 mg.
The tablets/capsules of Amoxicillin are usually used 3 times per day, between meals. A minimal length of taking Amoxicillin is 5 days, the maximal – 30 days.
In case of the complications of the infectious diseases, a single dose of Amoxicillin for adults can be increased up to 750 mg.
In the treatment of the infectious diseases in children, a single dose of Amoxicillin is individual and is usually 125-250 mg.
– Do not take Amoxicillin in combination with bacteriostatic antibiotics which lower the effect of the bactericidal drugs
– During the prolonged treatment, it is necessary to control the functions of kidneys, liver and organs of the blood formation
– Do not take Amoxicillin if you had allergy to penicillin antibiotics
– During pregnancy, Amoxicillin can be used only by the doctor’s recommendation and under his/her supervision.
Amoxicillin may causeheadache, dizziness, rhinitis, spasmodic reactions, rash, anemia, and stomatitis. These side effects pass within 2-3 days and do not influence on the efficiency of the treatment.
